This website ("Site") was created by Leibniz-Institut Hessische Stiftung Friedens- und Konfliktforschung (HSFK), Baseler Str. 27-31, 60329 Frankfurt am Main, Germany (also known as the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt, PRIF), which is part of the EU Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Consortium(for details see www.nonproliferation.eu), dedicated to create a network bringing together foreign policy institutions and research centres from across the EU to encourage political and security-related dialogue and the long-term discussion of measures to combat the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and their delivery systems. The Site was created to implement the Council Decision 2014/129/CFSP of the European Union (EU), which tasks the EU Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Consortium to develop a comprehensive eLearning course covering relevant aspects of the EU Non-Proliferation and disarmament agenda.
HSFK offers you an e-learning platform providing a wealth of information concerning Non-Proliferation, Arms Control and Disarmament.
The Site is generally built up in two sections. You may access certain parts of the Site without the requirement of a registration (Portal Section and linked learning units). The Portal Section offers you access to Learning Units regarding Non-Proliferation, Arms Control, and Disarmament.
HSFK also offers you to register for free and, upon completion of the e-learning classes, to obtain two certificates. (Certificate Section)
2. Special Conditions for Certificate Section
HSFK offers you to register for free and to participate in the Certificate Section of the Site.
In order to access the Certificate Section, you will have to register for free and provide your full name and e-mail address in order to create an account. You will be prompted to confirm your registration in an e-mail to your e-mail account. HSFK will not verify your name, but the name provided when registering will appear on your certificate and cannot be changed after registration.
HSFK offers two different certificates: The basic certificate will be issued after completion of the five basic Learning Units within the certificate section. The comprehensive certificate will be issued after completion of all Learning Units within the certificate section. To complete the Learning Units, you must master an individual test for the respective Learning Units within the certificate section. If you are a registered user, your progress (tests you have taken after a Learning Unit) will be saved in a database. If the basic Learning Units have been completed within the certificate section, the basic certificate will be unlocked and can be downloaded and printed out by you. The comprehensive certificate will be unlocked if you have completed all Learning Units within the certificate section.
